Where Life Began
On the way to the Maasai Mara, we passed near the Rift Valley. They say this valley is where early humans first appeared and where life began.
There, a local man told us the history of the valley, although it was clear that some parts were mixed with legend.
After that, we arrived at the entrance to the Maasai Mara. Meshak went ahead and paid the park entrance fee.
As soon as we entered, I felt as if I had died and gone to heaven. Seeing so many animals in just one evening, along with such magnificent landscapes, was truly unimaginable.
For the first time in my life, I saw baboons, buffalo, giraffes, elephants, lions, jackals, and many more—up close and in their natural habitat. As Ali said, this was only the welcome; the real story would begin the next day.
In the evening, Meshak stopped under a lone tree. We got out of the car and sat down to watch the sunset. After that, we headed to our hotel, which was located right in the middle of the wildlife park.
Monkeys greeted us at the entrance and escorted us to our room. Thankfully, they didn’t arrest us for not having our passports.
After dinner, tea, and long, late-night conversations, we went to sleep, knowing we had to wake up very early the next morning.
