Breakfast with Giraffes
At 5 a.m., we woke up and had breakfast. Breakfast in Kenya is surprisingly similar to breakfast in London—waffles, for example, which I absolutely love.
After breakfast, we boarded the safari vehicle, and Meshak shouted in Persian, “Berim, Berim,” meaning, “Let’s go, let’s go.”
The first animal I saw was an elephant—huge and surprisingly close. They were eating bushes and walking slowly, with a calm and majestic rhythm.
Meshak called his friends to find out the lions’ location. A few minutes later, we saw lions hunting, just like in a National Geographic documentary. They were stalking buffalo and walking quietly past gazelles. It was breathtaking.
We were hungry again and started looking for the perfect place to have breakfast in the wild. On the way, we saw cheetahs and giraffes. The landscape looked like a painting.
Finally, we had breakfast with giraffes in the background—a breakfast with a view that felt unreal.
